How to Decide
Terminator Salvation is known for its real‑time squad command mechanics in a sci‑fi shooter, and it’s used by fans of post‑apocalyptic action games. The alternatives split into a few clear camps: Resistance 3 leans into a gritty 1950s alternate‑history setting with robust co‑op options; Resistance: Fall of Man emphasizes a 16‑player online competitive multiplayer focus; Resistance 2 offers massive 60‑player competitive battles combined with a class‑based system and split‑screen support.
When comparing these titles, focus on (1) the scale and mode of multiplayer – from the 16‑player online matches of Resistance: Fall of Man to the 60‑player competitive battles in Resistance 2 and the smaller co‑op‑centric sessions in Resistance 3; (2) the type of cooperative play available – online‑only in Resistance 3, split‑screen local co‑op in Resistance 2, and split‑screen plus online in Resistance: Fall of Man; (3) narrative setting and tone – Terminator Salvation’s post‑apocalyptic future versus Resistance 3’s 1950s alternate history and the broader alternate‑history war backdrop of the other Resistance entries; (4) platform exclusivity – all three Resistance games are PlayStation‑3‑only, which matters if cross‑platform play or PC availability is required; and (5) depth of weapon customization – Resistance 3’s extensive attachment system, Resistance: Fall of Man’s weapon customization, and Resistance 2’s class‑based arsenal each offer different levels of load‑out flexibility.
