Stremio

AI-suggested

Stremio is a free, open-source media center application that brings together movies, TV shows, live channels, and podcasts through an add-on system rather than hosting content itself. Users install add-ons from a catalog to pull in metadata, streaming sources, or subscription-service links, and Stremio organizes everything into a unified browsing and watchlist interface. It supports playback of magnet links, torrent files, and standard HTTP streams, syncs watch progress across devices, and can cast to a Chromecast from its desktop or Android apps. The core app is free, with optional donations unlocking experimental features, and its addon system runs remotely rather than executing code locally, which the project positions as a security benefit.
