How to Decide
Feedly is best known as a cloud‑based news aggregator that lets enthusiasts and professionals curate personalized RSS feeds across devices. The alternatives split into a few clear camps: Folo leans on AI‑generated summaries and a free unlimited‑feed model; NetNewsWire is a native macOS desktop app that is open‑source; NewsBlur provides machine‑learning based personalization with an available API; Google News delivers a massive algorithm‑driven aggregation with real‑time alerts for a broad audience.
When comparing these options, focus on the pricing model (free versus freemium), platform support (web‑only, native desktop, or cross‑device cloud), the personalization engine (AI‑driven, machine‑learning, or manual filters), open‑source versus proprietary licensing, and API availability for integrations or custom workflows.
